So from these interviews I learned that my service could potentially be extremely useful. Also, when you don't ask strict questions you get a lot more out of people and what are the problems your hope to solve/ can solve.
3 tips I'd give future students...
1. Be open and explain the goal of the interview in full.
2. Smile and listen actively.
3. Don't wait till the last minute to conduct interviews.
Hello Edward, I would like to know about your idea in more detail. You did not explained it in the post but I definitely got that is something related to improving the public transportation system, specially during the weekends. One suggestion would be that the last question is kind of leading the students' answers. Other than that, I think the information that you collected is very helpful. It is true, the bus service is very poor during weekends and it would be wonderful is something could be done to improve that. Furthermore, I do agree with your tips, specially with the smiling part. I believe is very important to transmit a positive attitude and never get discouraged if someone says no. Here is my post if you want to take a look at it http://berrvh.blogspot.com/2016/02/after-first-round-of-interviews-i.html
Hi Edward, your idea seems good. From the feedback that you got, it seems that there is a demand for a better bus service over the weekend. I would suggest to develop your idea a bit further (specially since you were not able to post a first round of interviews) by writing about your idea using the guideline from the assignment. To play the devil's advocate: from what I understand, Student Government and the school administration take on a good portion of RTS's expenses. By expanding the weekend service, it could actually lead to unwanted results, such as an increase in tuition.
